‎In a proactive step towards ensuring continued harmony and progress, the University management, under the leadership of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor A. S Bamire held a constructive meeting on Tuesday with representatives from the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), Non-Academic Staff Union of Universities (NASU), National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT), and National Association of Non- Teaching Staff (NANTS). The central focus of the discussion was the comprehensive implementation of the 2026 agreement concerning the Consolidated Tertiary Institutions Staff Salary Structure (CONTTA).
‎
‎The session, which took place at the Secretariat Building, was characterized by a spirit of intellectual exchange and mutual understanding. SSANU, among the participating unions, reiterated its commitment to the full implementation of agreement components , emphasizing the importance of member satisfaction.
‎
‎The Vice-Chancellor expressed a commitment to addressing the unions’ requests. Significant progress was made as the Management agreed to facilitate the payment of CONTTA arrears and the Earned Allowances (EA). This agreement is anticipated to further strengthen the positive working relationship between the management and its staff.
‎
‎The relevant components of the fruitful deliberations of the management meeting will be communicated to the Federal Government, underscoring the university’s dedication to a collaborative approach in addressing staff welfare and ensuring the smooth operation of all academic and non-academic activities.
