In a proactive move to enhance operational efficiency and assess infrastructural needs, the Vice-Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, along with a high-powered Management Team, is set to commence a comprehensive tour of key administrative departments. The visits, scheduled for Monday, July 6th, and Tuesday, July 7th, 2026, will encompass the Registry, Bursary, and Internal Audit offices.
‎
‎This initiative, originating from the Office of the Vice-Chancellor, aims to provide an on-the-spot assessment of the current state of facilities within these critical administrative organs. Sources within the Vice-Chancellor’s office indicate that the tour is designed to foster a deeper understanding of the day-to-day operational environment and identify potential areas for improvement and development.
‎
‎The schedule, detailed in a memo signed by Mr K. F. Ejiwumi, Acting Director of the Vice-Chancellor’s Office, outlines a systematic approach to the departmental inspections.
‎
‎On Monday, July 6th, the Management Team will focus on various units housed within the University Secretariat Building. This includes Expenditure Control, Financial Management, Capital Projects, the Directorate of Corporate Services, the Public Relations Unit, the Directorate of Personnel Affairs, Academic Staff Establishment, the Directorate of Procurement, the Directorate of Legal Service, and the Directorate of Council Affairs. These visits are slated to commence at 10:00 AM.
‎
‎The following day, Tuesday, July 7th, the tour will shift to the University Secretariat Building Extension, also beginning at 10:00 AM. This segment will cover the Security Unit, various Bursary offices, DCPD, the Admission Office, Exams and Records, Senate Division, the Directorate of Planning and Budgeting, the Directorate of Audit, ATSE, Salaries, and Junior Staff Establishment.
‎
‎Staff members from the Registry, Bursary, and Internal Audit departments are strongly encouraged to be present during these scheduled visits. The university administration emphasizes the importance of this engagement for fostering a collaborative approach to administrative excellence. This tour underscores the Vice-Chancellor’s commitment to ensuring that OAU’s administrative backbone is robust, efficient, and well-equipped to support the university’s academic and research endeavors.
